Anthony's first day of school was yesterday and Isabella's first day was today. They were both excited to start school and besides one little incident with a grumpy teacher yesterday, Anthony is really enjoying middle school so far. He really likes all of his teachers and has seen a lot of his old friends from Happy Valley and Hillcrest at school. It's amazingly hard to believe that my baby boy is in middle school! He's growing up! After the first day of school, he came to me with questions about girls, drugs and homosexuality. Well not a question about girls but that there was already one that liked him (not to mention all the ones from Wade King and Happy Valley that like him that are now at Fairhaven). Boy do I have my hands full, but I am SO happy that he talks to me about these things and that I can talk to him about these things so openly!
Anthony signed up for school soccer (1st quarter), wrestling (3rd quarter) and track (4th quarter) and starts his first day of soccer practice tomorrow and has practice right after school Tuesday through Friday. This is all so new to me because I never went to a public middle school, so we're both learning at the same time here. He chose Band for his elective but decided he doesn't really want to do it, so he requested to transfer to Art instead. Hopefully they'll switch him. I'm excited that he is so excited about middle school!
Isabella had a good first day. She didn't want me to leave, as usual, but after handing her over to her teacher, she was just fine. Last year, I handed her over to her teacher every day! She never wanted me to leave unless she was in someone else's arms. I was hoping this year, she would grow out of that, but after staying with her for a half hour, I finally handed her over. She never cries, she just doesn't want me to leave. She'd rather me stay with her all day. It's a good thing the teachers love taking her! :)
