The Big Climb Seattle

On March 21st, I joined a group of about 40 people in efforts to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help in the fight against blood cancers. Our team was called "Team Charlie/Extreme Fitness" and was put together by my boot camp instructor, Jerad, and a lady from our boot camp class whose son has Leukemia. His name is Charlie. This was such a humbling and awesome experience and I'm really glad I was a part of it.
Albert, Isabella and I headed down to Seattle the evening before the climb for dinner with our team, including little Charlie, and then spent the night at my sister's house. The following day, we headed downtown to the Colombia Center where my team and I would embark on a journey up the Colombia Tower. 69 flights of stairs, 1,311 steps, 788 feet of vertical elevation, and we all did it for one common cause - finding a cure. I completed this journey in 21 minutes. I set my goal at 30 minutes, so I was pretty happy with my results. :) There were over 6,000 participants in all and all the teams were staggered throughout the day. Our team goal was to raise $5,000 and we ended up raising $9,282.75!!! I'm looking forward to being a part of this again next year!
