Family Day!

It's been a while since I've posted a blog! We've been so busy, but things are finally starting to settle down a bit. We took a much needed family day today and went to Larabee State Park for the afternoon to play. We then went to lunch in Fairhaven at On Rice and then came home and watched a movie. It was so nice to spend the day with the family! Larabee was fun but SUPER cold, so we are excited to go back there when the weather gets warmer and spend more time there. It was so beautiful though, even though it was cold.

In other news, my dad is healing from his surgery very well! He spent two weeks here at our house when he got out of the hospital and I nursed him back to health and gave him his daily blood-thinning shot. Anthony and Isabella LOVED having Papa here and getting to help take care of him. Isabella especially, really bonded with Papa while he was here and was always rubbing his shoulder and asking him if he was feeling okay and if his tummy hurt. She would go in and check on him as soon as she woke up each morning. She enjoyed giving him his pills and wanted to help out in any way she could. Anthony also really enjoyed having Papa here and enjoyed getting to spend time with him. He was so sweet and gave up his room for Papa while he was here with us.

I took my dad down to Seattle for his post-op follow up a couple weeks ago, and the news was good! He basically told us the same thing he told us as soon as he finished the surgery- that they removed the whole tumor and that he will not need chemo or radiation! The tumor is low-grade, which means it's not very agressive and that it didn't spread to any other areas. So, while his tumor is likely to grow back, it may take several years. He will have to get a CT scan in 4 weeks to get a baseline scan so that they have something to compare his future scans to. And then will have to have a follow-up with the surgeon again in about 6 months to re-check things and make sure he is okay. Thank you God! Thank you all for praying for us!

In other happenings, I have been getting a lot of transcription work and have been very busy with that, which is good for the extra income! Anthony and Isabella are doing well in school and I have been busy helping out in their classrooms. Anthony has a choir concert coming up next week that I am looking forward to, and he will have a violin concert coming up soon also. He also continues to play indoor soccer at the Sportsplex with his brother Jonny. Isabella had a field trip to North Coast Gymnastics, which is where Anthony goes, and her and her classmates had so much fun doing gymnastics together! She also had her first play date with friends from pre-school yesterday. Her and I went over to Meghan and Samantha's (twin girls from her class) house yesterday and the girls played for 3 hours while their mom and I had a nice visit. They had SO much fun!! I started my 5th session of boot camp on January 12th and am still loving it! Albert has been busy with work but hasn't been able to work any overtime except for last weekend. We are all doing good though and are SO looking forward to nice, warm, sunny weather so we can get outside more and have fun in the sun! We have just a little bit of snow left in our front yard that is melting away slowly each day. It seems like we've had snow forever!!
